Why I do this

A Collaboration with the Hands of Time to preserve our favorite parts in this experience of Life with a tangible artifact that can survive generations.

The Alchemy of Wetplate Photography has become a chosen catylist of self-expression in my creative journey over the last decade. It has something to do with the amount of control (...or lack of) at all stages from hand mixing the chemistry to setting up the shot.

A practice in patience, collaboration, managing expectations, and the acceptance of what comes of it all.

How I work

This process asks us to slow down and honor the time required for Vintage Photography. Each tintype will be created within 10-15 minutes once the first chemistry is poured on your choice in plate size. Deposits include an hour studio time + one portrait (chosen size for deposit) from the two we will create in the hour session. You will have the opportunity to purchase additional photographs at a discounted price when created during your session.

The exposure times during this process have many variables including how many people will be in frame, the distance between subjects and camera, and natural light vs. studio light.

All we have to do is show up.

The Chemistry + Light make the magic happen.
